Our Cozy Cottage sits behind our historic main home and is perfect for travelers and corporate rentals. Completely furnished with mahogany queen rice bed, full size sofa, hassock pullout twin bed, oriental rugs, small computer desk, marble kitchen with all pots and pans, and marble shower bath, WiFi, DirecTV, and street parking on either Alexander or Charlotte Street.
Our Cozy Cottage rental includes all of your utilities: electricity, cable TV, water, heat and air. Weekly or monthly housekeeping service is available for an additional fee. Bed and bath linens are furnished. With 24-hour notice, Cottage guests can enjoy a scrumptious breakfast in the Main House with our B&B guests at 8:30 for a small daily fee.
The Cozy Cottage faces our lovely yard where six Crepe Myrtles bloom and 100 roses in summer. Sunshine Ligustrum form a yellow ribbon hedge. The slate walk will bring you around to the wrought iron front gate at Charlotte Street, and also to the front porch of the Main House. The big porch, or piazza as we say here, is perfect for an evening cocktail before an easy stroll to supper at a nearby res
The Cottage's open floor plan has a fully equipped kitchen at one end and the sleeping area at the other. The large bath is located to the left of the kitchen.
The marble counter kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook a normal meal. Included are a full size stove, refrigerator, ice maker, microwave, coffee maker, double sink and garbage disposal. There is no dishwasher. We'll get you going with starter paper products and dish detergent. Harris Teeter grocery store is 3 blocks away.
The modern bath occupies what was a Victorian Era privy, or garden house as they used to say. Historic homes had no bathrooms or closets! The Main House was restored in 2000 and challengingly retrofitted with baths, heating and air, and closets. The big bath has two large counters, a tile rainfall shower, deep drawers for clothes, and small closet.

The Rental Details.
No college students and absolutely no smokers or pets, without exception. Tenant must be quiet and not rowdy; we are too old for gate slamming after midnight, hollering, beer bash football parties, and other foolishness!
This is a great rental for a corporate pro or traveling nurse. We don't seek a year's lease; the cottage may be rented month to month. Rates are higher in Spring and Fall and range from $2,500 to $3,500 depending on duration. The refundable deposit is 25 percent of the monthly rental rate. If you cancel 14 or fewer days before your arrival, you'll lose your money. The Cottage must be left clean. For a small folding fee, our housekeeper will do your laundry in the big house and return it to the Cottage.
